Legion announced the appointment of Craig Josic as the company’s Community Engagement Officer. The new position has been created to head up Legion’s overall engagement efforts, enabling the organisation to build stronger community connections and advocates for the new undersea cable services rolling out across the Sunshine Coast.

Legion, Australia’s newest telecommunication company, is empowered with the vision to bring internet speeds 10 times faster than other available options, to businesses across the Sunshine Coast region and beyond, making them more competitive to do business on the world stage. More online businesses are relocating to the Sunshine Coast region every year, not surprising given all the region has to offer business and their employees; lifestyle, sunshine, beaches, retail, dining, thriving start-up and business community.

Legion is the culmination of 5 years of development by leading industry executives. Focused now on the rapid growth of the Sunshine Coast region and providing the business community with a world-class gateway to the world. The Legion 10G network shifts the Sunshine Coast from being a neglected, copper-based region onto the springboard of high-speed world-class connectivity.
Craig is the co-founder and former chair of Silicon Coast, a not-for-profit group igniting collaboration and the leading representative body for entrepreneurship, innovation and technology on the Sunshine Coast, supporting the development of the regional ecosystem for over 7 years. Celebrating the spirit of Silicon Coast – a region moving on innovation and technological change. This spirit embodies a give-first culture, encouraging members to actively participate and recognise those who amplify the tech, entrepreneurial and business community.

Over the years Silicon Coast has been a major supporter of the development of Australia’s only greenfield city centre within an existing urban area at Maroochydore. Back in 2014 Craig was invited to speak at the submarine cable media launch and said that the undersea cable will be a massive game changer for our region and will set a great foundation for our region to become a significant global player and make a difference in our local economy. 4 years on Craig said he was honored and proud to be invited to be a part of this Sunshine Coast historic event back in December 2019. “I am thrilled that Craig Josic is joining the Legion team,” said Damian Brennan, Co-chief Executive Officer. “Craig brings a wealth of local experience and valuable skills to the role which will help Legion achieve even more as we roll out the fibre to our first business communities. After all, in today’s connected world, what could be more important than speed, reliability and collaboration within our local economy.”
